Steppers are looking for songs with 85 -110 beats per minute (BPM). Most songs will be a soft R&B or rhythm and blues. (for the swing beat where something occurs on the half beat between the 3rd and 4th beats.)
There are 24 basic moves in Chicago Steppin' for the dancer to learn. During class sessions students learn the progressive use of stationary, turns, and spins for this unique form.
